Break the Bias

Graphic Design

The Background

International Women's Day (IWD) takes place in March every year, and aims to raise awareness for women's equality.

In 2022, the theme and focus was 'Break the Bias' with this being represented by the crossing of arms to show solidarity.

The Response

In response to the theme, I created visuals for social media.

Using a fork and ink, I created type and patterns from mark-making. Using the fork represented the concept of breaking out from a cage.

The surface pattern design features a vibrant purple background with abstract and high contrast elements of crosses, hatches, and lines.
